My Story

I Had Been a Square Trying to Fit Into a Circle

“If you want to teach meditation, you’re going to have to grow your hair.”

I still remember the moment.

I had just stepped into my dream – teaching meditation, sharing the practices that had transformed my life. My heart was on fire with purpose.

And then, this one sentence popped my bubble.

Because at the time, I had short, spiky hair, a style that wasn’t just hair. It was me. Bold. Edgy. Free.

Apparently, it wasn’t spiritual enough. It didn’t fit the image of what a meditation teacher “should” look like.

I wish I could say I laughed it off. But I didn’t. Instead, I shrank.

I let someone else’s expectations define me. And so, I grew my hair.

For years.

I played the part. I followed the rules. I fit in. And yet, something inside me felt off.

It wasn’t about the hair. It was about something much deeper. I had compromised a piece of myself to belong. And that’s where so many of us get stuck, isn’t it?

We tweak. We soften. We silence parts of ourselves just to be accepted.

Until one day, we wake up and realize… We don’t even recognize who we are anymore.

The Moment Everything Changed

A decade later, I finally cut my hair again.

And you know what happened? Nothing.

My students didn’t stop learning from me. My credibility didn’t disappear.

The world didn’t end.

But something inside me shifted.

For the first time in years, I felt fully, unapologetically myself.

And in that moment, I saw the truth:

  • Authenticity isn’t about how we look. It’s about how we feel in our own skin.
  • We spend so much time trying to fit in that we forget we were born to stand out.
  • The world doesn’t need another “perfect” person. It needs the real YOU.

And then, another realization hit me like lightning:

I Had Been a Square Trying to Fit Into a Circle

I had spent years shrinking my edges to fit inside someone else’s idea of who I should be.

But here’s the thing:

  • A circle can fit inside a square but a square will never fit inside a circle unless it cuts off its corners.
  • Society will always ask you to shrink yourself, to be softer, smaller, more “acceptable.”
  • But you weren’t born to shrink. You were born to EXPAND.

And once I embraced that, everything changed.

I stopped playing small.

I stopped seeking permission.

I stopped believing the lie that I had to change to be taken seriously.

And that’s when I knew my purpose:

  • To help others break free.
  • To guide people through personal transformation.
  • To remind you that your uniqueness isn’t a flaw—it’s your SUPERPOWER.

From the laughter-filled kitchen to the demanding corporate world, my life has been a mosaic of roles that deepened my understanding of the human experience.

As a daughter, I learned resilience from watching my mother balance her dreams with family. As a wife, I discovered that partnership is like a dance, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow, but it’s always a shared victory. Motherhood brought a whirlwind of emotions, unconditional love, patience, and the relentless pursuit of balance. Being a daughter-in-law taught me empathy, bridging generations and traditions with respect and unity. As a meditation and leadership instructor for over two decades with college students, I witnessed their uncertain steps turn into confident strides, guiding them as they discovered their footing.

In my professional and personal life, I found my voice, advocating for myself and others who needed support. These experiences weren’t just moments; they were transformative lessons that allow me to connect deeply with others.

I understand the juggling act because I’ve lived it.

Together, we’ll tap into your inner strength, embrace your roles, and create a path that truly reflects you. Let’s walk this road together, turning every stone into a stepping stone towards the life you envision.
