When you live from the depth of your soul, joy doesn’t visit—it resides. It moves like an endless flowing river, weaving through every moment, no longer bound by fleeting highs and lows but rooted in something eternal.
Yesterday, I dissolved into the ocean, letting its rhythm carry me to a place where my thoughts faded into the crashing waves. A rare surrender—one that required no effort, no searching. Just being. Today, I felt compelled to repeat the experience, but somewhere new. Punta Una it was.
As I sat there, eyes fixed on the horizon, a friend’s words surfaced: “Silence holds knowledge.” The ocean nodded in agreement, its wisdom carried in the undulating tides.
The waves spoke in a language I didn’t need to decipher. Their ebb and flow became my breath, their sound my heartbeat. I wasn’t observing anymore—I was the ocean. Is this what it feels like to surrender completely? To dissolve into the depths of your soul until you’re everything and nothing all at once?
Here, time and space dissolve, leaving only stillness. Pure, unadulterated joy. It isn’t jarring or fleeting. It’s expansive. Feels eternal.
And I wonder—can I carry this feeling home? Even when I meditate, it doesn’t feel this boundless. Why does this moment feel like a revelation?
Maybe it’s the salt air, the vastness of the ocean, or the way sunlight dances with the water. Maybe it’s none of these. Maybe it’s something deeper—the moment I stop trying to define myself and simply exist.
Why These Moments Matter
Moments like these aren’t just escapes from reality; they are necessary for our growth. In a world that constantly demands productivity, validation, and definition, these experiences remind us who we are beneath it all.
We spend so much time searching – searching for meaning, for purpose, for the next step. But what if clarity isn’t found in the search, but in the stillness? In the moments where we stop trying to become and simply be.
When we allow ourselves to dissolve into the vastness of something greater— whether it’s the ocean, the mountains, or the quiet of a morning breeze—we reconnect with something primal, something infinite. These moments expand us.
They stretch our understanding of joy, presence, and what it truly means to be alive.
Growth has often felt like a climb, a path to be walked, a lesson to be learned. But what if it’s also about dissolving? Letting go of the need to name, categorize, and control? What if the greatest transformation happens not in striving, but in surrendering?
Everything around, below, and above me feels alive. I feel bound with everything, yet weightless. The overthinker in me stirs, tempted to label this feeling, to dissect it until it makes sense. But I won’t.
Instead, I’ll sit in gratitude, knowing that silence will unravel its secrets when it’s ready. And when it does, it will fill my soul again and again, like waves returning to the shore—endless, infinite, and free.
Picture this: a fresh-faced student in the U.S. embarking on a new journey after running a successful clothing business. Imagine going from serving coffee as a barista to handling contracts worth thousands of dollars. Envision inspiring my twins to clean their room to guiding corporate executives to clear their minds of stress, all while maneuvering life’s pivots like a seasoned salsa dancer.
As a daughter, I learned resilience from watching my mother balance her dreams with family. As a wife, I discovered that partnership is like a dance, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow, but it’s always a shared victory. Motherhood brought a whirlwind of emotions, unconditional love, patience, and the relentless pursuit of balance. Being a daughter-in-law taught me empathy, bridging generations and traditions with respect and unity. As a meditation and leadership instructor for over two decades with college students, I witnessed their uncertain steps turn into confident strides, guiding them as they discovered their footing.
